One of the things we like about Javea is that there are 3 distinct Areas - the Arenal, the Port and the Old Town. Each has a different character. The apartment is in the Arenal area, which is modern and lively. The sea front has an excellent beach, and a promenade with many good restaurants.

Most places in Javea have a good view of the Montgo mountain

The port area contains the harbour where local fishing boats come in with their catch. It operates as a working small town, and has a sea front with bars and restaurants.

The church in the port area is built in an interesting modern style

Javea old town is a traditional Spanish town, and quite different from the Arenal and Port areas. It has pretty old narrow streets, town squares and great Spanish tapas bars and restaurants

Many of the residents in the Old Town take great pride in the appearance of their streets and houses

Although quieter than the Arenal, there's a great atmosphere in the Old Town in the evenings.

Javea has a large general market every Thursday, and also an indoor food market which is open most days.

A little further afield, the Jalon Valley is worth a visit. Early in the year the almond trees are in blossom, giving a wonderful spectacle
